The latest acquisition marks Sumer’s entrance into Northern Ireland
Today, Sumer, the UK’s leading mid-market accountancy practice for small to medium-sized enterprises, has announced its entrance into Northern Ireland (NI), with the acquisition of ASM’s Belfast office.
By joining Sumer, ASM’s Belfast office will become Sumer Northern Ireland, exiting the wider ASM group. The deal marks a milestone as Sumer continues it’s focus for SME clients of national scale with local delivery, building on it’s footprint across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. All of the Belfast based Directors will remain with Sumer NI which will continue to provide Audit and Accounting, Corporate Finance, Insolvency, Forensic Accounting, Internal Audit and Tax Services to its clients.
Warren Mead, Chief Executive Officer of Sumer, commented: “It’s recovery time for SMEs in Northern Ireland, with a third more firms being set up this year than last. However, many SMEs are having problems growing, accessing finance and advice. That’s why it was a natural development for us to enter the market. Sumer Northern Ireland will be championing SMEs in the region, providing owner operators with the advice and guidance to thrive.”
Brian Clerkin, Director of Sumer Northern Ireland, added: “Putting clients first is at the heart of our business, a value shared with Sumer. However, Sumer also has a refreshing challenger mindset which will empower us to think differently and enhance our service offerings to our clients. We’re looking forward to delivering even better experiences for our clients, by harnessing our new partner’s investment in cutting-edge tech, its ability to scale quickly and the wide-breadth of expertise across the Sumer Group.”
